The Chinese lantern festival is coming to put Nice on the spotlight!

This winter, there is a whole lot more to do in Nice than just visiting the Christmas fair: the Chinese lantern festival is the next big thing

Who said there is nothing to do in Nice during winter?
Between the 29.11.2019-23.02.2020, the city will be welcoming “Baie des Lumieres”, the Chinese lantern festival, for the first time in Park Phoenix near the airport.

This extravagant show of lights is expected to be a riot for the whole family as 550 monumental luminous lanterns will light the skies of the city.

The show will include an 18-metre high Great Wall of China and two 50-metre-long dragons – just like in China!
This is a true opportunity to discover Chinese traditions and know-how, illustrated by live scenes and fairy tales.

Attractions will be numerous:

The Dance of the Peacock Show:
A traditional dance show of from the Dai people dedicated to the peacock, the sacred animal which symbolises good luck and happiness.

The Dance of the Masks:
The master of Bian Lian comes to meet you in traditional costume. With surprising dexterity he changes masks repeatedly. According to the rules of Bian Lian, the movement has to be imperceptible to the spectators. An unbelievable and surprising performance.

Tea Ceremony:
Gong Fu Cha is a unique fun way to prepare tea. The master uses a teapot with an extended spout with which he comes round to serve tea thanks to a fluid and harmonious choreography.

Martial arts demonstrations:
Discover the performance of the masters of Kung Fu, ten minutes of a breath-taking live show!

Food courts will be scattered across the area, providing visitors traditional Chinese meals and snacks, as well as western ones.
