Saint Tropez

Quiet by winter, wild and free by summer. Meet the addicting diversity of Saint Tropez

Arguably the tourists choice of vacation, Saint Tropez is an exquisite destination for those who seek a one of a kind of experience.

Besides of the stunning landscape, mixing wild sandy beaches with village architecture, this town offers plenty options to make fun during the night: L’opera, VIP room Le Quai, Les Caves du Roy are only a partial list.

During the day it is mostly a calm place with many open and green spaces.
A casual walk inside the city will show you its small and old corridors and shops, alongside some typical french bistros and houses kissing the shore, and of course – the beautiful port.
Bonus fact: the Tarte Tropézienne is a sponge cake containing different types of cream, and is the traditional dessert of the city.

If it is sunbathing and swimming is what you wish for, St. Trop’ offers an amazing sandy coastline and even nudity beaches – both hard to find in the rest of the region.

Just before all the tourists begin to show up in town (on May), the ‘Tropezians’ are celebrating their annual Les Bravades de Saint-Tropez. This annual celebration is in the memory of their permission to have a militia that will protect them from pirates back in the day.
This three-days holiday is being held for more than 450 years, and features a traditional march and costumes.

Another annual event is the Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez.
This series of boat races, which takes place during September, draws both local owners and foreigners to the spot; either to participate or just behold the contest.

How to get here

Getting inside St. Tropez could be tricky if you are not aware of all the options available:

By sea: ferry service is available between the ports of Nice, Cannes, Saint Raphael.

By air: the closest airport is La Môle, which is located 17 km from the St. Tropez itself.

By land: no rail station in Saint-Tropez. The nearest station is ‘Saint-Raphaël-Valescure’ located in Saint-Raphaël.
We recommend to catch a boat from there to St. Tropez, and skip the massive traffic that often catches cars and busses on the way in.

If you prefer to get there by land only, there bus and taxi services from Nice airport – the latter is not cheap obviously.
